Jealousy

James 3:13-18

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show his works done in gentleness that wisdom brings. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfishness in your hearts, do not boast and tell lies against the truth. Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical. And the fruit that consists of righteousness is planted in peace among those who make peace.

I am really embarrassed to talk about this topic. I’m embarrassed because, who wants to admit to being jealous? My name is Cadesia, and I am a jealous person. Correction I was a jealous person. I let jealousy dominate me. Enough is enough, I’m taking my life back.

Jealousy tried to turn me into a bitter and hateful person. I am a loving and caring person. Jealously tried to make me feel unimportant. According to God, I am blessed and highly favored. Jealousy tried to make me feel weak. I am growing stronger every day. Jealousy tried to send me to a dark place. With God’s love, there’s always light.

As humans, we’re subjected to be jealous at some point in life. I was jealous over attention. If someone else was given the attention I normally received I turned green with envy. The key is not giving jealousy your power. You see, jealousy is a demonic spirit and we don’t have time for such foolishness. Jealously had me saying and doing stupid things that I didn’t understand. It tried to take over me, but I conquered that devil.

Don’t fall into the jealousy trap. There’s no competition when you have God. He will never leave you, so you don’t have to beg for attention. We’re so much better than bitter, hateful jealousy. So from here going forward, I will NEVER be jealous again. And remember, it’s all fun and games until you’re looking like the wicked witch of the west and everyone is laughing at you.
